Bring back broken MP4 / MOV files BETA
Camera lost power mid-recording? File won't open in any player? We rebuild the container index so it plays again.
MP4 · MOV · MKV · AVI
Shot on a Sony XDCAM/XAVC card? Upload the whole folder →
Upload a single video file instead →
Click the drop zone above to open the folder picker, or drag your camera card folder onto it. Your folder is packaged into a single archive inside your browser's memory only (nothing is written to your disk, nothing leaves your machine until you click Start recovery), then uploaded directly to our server. Works up to ~4 GB. For larger folders, or if the files live in OneDrive/Dropbox "online-only" mode, use the Google Drive tab.
✓ No reference file needed. Folder uploads usually contain all the clips and structure we need — the healthy clips inside the folder act as their own reference for any that need rebuilding.
1. Paste the broken file — or folder — Drive link
Right-click your file or folder in Drive → Share → set "General access" to Anyone with the link → Copy link. We download from Google's servers directly (no local upload).
📁 Folder uploads are for Sony XDCAM/XAVC cards
(a PRIVATE/XDROOT/ tree of MXF clips) — paste a Drive
folder URL and we'll pull the entire tree, concatenate the clips,
and return a single MP4. For other cards (Panasonic AVCHD, Canon
Cinema), share the single broken clip instead.
2. Reference file Drive link (optional)
A healthy recording from the same camera. Improves recovery rate.
✓ No reference file needed. Folder URLs usually contain all the clips and structure we need.
Tip: works for any file size. Server pulls from Google directly, so your computer can sleep while it processes.
Have a healthy clip from the same camera? Add it (optional) Reference clip attached
A short working recording from the same camera. It helps most when the broken file's structure is fully destroyed — and it teaches the system to recover files from this camera without a reference next time.
By uploading you confirm you have the right to this file and agree to our Terms and Privacy notice.
- Encrypted transfer. Our processing servers aren't reachable directly from the public internet.
- Deleted automatically — 7 days after a repair, 30 after a failure.
- Never shared, sold, published, or used to train AI.
What are you uploading?
Will it work on my file?
- Camera lost power, card pulled, or a screen recording crashed — the file is full-size but opens in no player. Upload it.
- An undelete tool gave it back and it won't play. Upload it.
- A healthy clip from the same camera helps, and teaches the system.
- 0 bytes, or the file is missing — that's filesystem loss. Try PhotoRec or TestDisk first.
- It plays but looks wrong, or it's DRM / a streaming problem — not corruption. We can't help.

Shot on a Sony professional camera card?
Sony PXW/FS/FX/Z-series (XDCAM/XAVC) cameras save your shoot as a
PRIVATE/XDROOT folder of MXF clips. Pick "the whole folder"
above — we'll concatenate the clips into a single playable MP4. For
folders over 4 GB, share via Google Drive and paste the folder link.
Panasonic AVCHD and Canon Cinema cards work differently: upload the
single broken clip (the .MTS/.M2TS or Canon file itself) — those are
handled directly, not as a folder.
RepairMyVideo is a video file data recovery service: we rebuild the broken file structure around your original footage. We never upscale or "enhance" it with AI — nothing is generated, and whenever possible your original video and audio streams are copied across untouched. Some recoveries need converting a stream to a standard format so the repaired file plays everywhere — when that happens, your results page says so.
Frequently asked questions
Is RepairMyVideo (repair.video) related to Fix.Video or other repair sites?
No. RepairMyVideo is an independent service and is not affiliated with Fix.Video or any other video-repair company. repair.video is simply our short domain name and redirects to repairmyvideo.com — reviews, pricing or complaints you may read about other services do not describe this one. RepairMyVideo is free during the beta, with no payment step.
Is RepairMyVideo really free?
Yes, during the beta: analysis, repair, previewing and downloading the repaired file all cost nothing today, and no payment details are collected. When paid recovery eventually launches, analysis and diagnosis will remain free.
